Who are you?

My name is Payton Smith, but you might know me better as ZoranTheBear online.

Like many of you, I have a deep-seated passion for video games, board games, and tabletop role-playing games. This passion was kindled at a young age and has guided my journey into the gaming industry. Since 2014, I’ve been providing marketing insights and materials to various game companies, including Sony Online Entertainment & Behavior Interactive, and later to Paizo, the creators of the TTRPG Pathfinder & Starfinder, where I served as their Social Media Producer.

In addition to my work in the gaming industry, I’ve also dabbled in acting. I’ve lent my voice to various radio stations, video games, and online roles, with my most notable role being Leman Russ from “If The Emperor had a TTS Device”.

At the end of the day, I love to perform and entertain, making people laugh while embracing my inner dork.

What do you do now?

Content Creation
I run the YouTube Channel ZoranTheBear where I give first impressions & insights on various video games while also presenting highlights of my online antics over on Twitch. I heavily utilize Vtuber technology to help present my content in a more unique way.

TTRPG Content
In addition, I manage and run the TTRPG Shows & project Narrative Declaration. This is a collective of developers, writers, actors, and fun-loving individuals who have come together with the shared goal of making people laugh. On top of the shows, I and my buddy OnCallGM work together making monsters & worlds through various PDFs for people’s games.

TTRPG Developer & Writer
I see myself not as an accomplished developer or writer, but as a dedicated learner. Like all of us, I’m continually growing, learning from my mistakes, and striving to improve. My understanding of the complex field of TTRPG development has been greatly enriched by the guidance of remarkable individuals within the industry. Their teachings have been invaluable in shaping the work I do with Narrative Declaration, its shows, and PDF production. I’ve spent years applying these teachings and refining my craft. Encouraged by my friends and colleagues who believe in my abilities, I’ve come to embrace the title of a developer and writer. Yet, I remain a student at heart, always eager to learn and grow.
